Goodnight Alexa

Greetings! It’s been a most interesting week. I finally managed to run for three miles following the procedure on my foot last October. The Atlanta Half Marathon looms large in two days when I have only been on the road for 3 miles in a month.

I have been avoiding that reality, by attending to a project a student and I concocted last spring. After using the story, Goodnight Moon, in a Humanities class as an example of inspiration and influence, one student, noted how much she dislikes that story. She refused to read it to her young son. She went on to send me several parodies of the story. We joked about writing a version about the Kardashians and their extended clan. Over the course of 9 months the topic changed to artificial intelligence devices.

I finally finished the “short” story yesterday.
Read. Write. Run.
