Greetings! Zero chance of rain. We read this in a weather
report for Santa Barbara, California. Last Tuesday morning I stepped out of the
hotel room a few minutes before 5:00 am to a drizzle. It took a bit to
determine rain was not actually falling, rather the density of the morning fog
fell as heavy as mist. Nonetheless, I ran through the thick and moist air along
with other early morning exercise enthusiasts. Of course, fisherman and a host
of other seaside workers carried about business as normal on the beach and
pier.
Just over an hour later I returned to the same area on a
walk with Shannan. By this time some of the fog had lifted, still a fair amount
remained. Interestingly, I noticed a world of things I had missed earlier like
a skateboard park, several beach volleyball nets and significant sidewalk
construction. The latter could have created a real problem had good fortune not
been on my side.
The rest of the day proved as fortunate. We had a stellar time visiting tourist
attractions such as the Old Mission Santa Barbara, a vineyard and Hearst
Castle.
Be careful in the fog. Run.
Tom
