Triple Peach

Greetings! I’ve been longing for a new running event. So, I logged onto the Atlanta Track Club web site to check out the running event calendar. On the home page I found exactly what I had in mind.

In fact, two things on the site caught my attention. The Track Club’s Grand Prix series is bringing back cross country events. They have one in Cartersville at the end of the month. I read about that with great interest. The problem is I am already scheduled to run in a 5K that day.  It’s a race I have considered running since 1997.  I think I need to go ahead and check it off the list.

However, the second event, the new Triple Peach Series, completely has me intrigued.  This trifecta includes the massive 60,000 participant Fourth of July Peacthree Road Race, a new 10 miler in October and the Atlanta Half Marathon. All of these races move along Atlanta’s iconic Peachtree Street.

The Atlanta half marathon is a favorite of mine. I did not run the Peachtree this year as I had counted myself retired from that event after 20 years of participating. Now, I see I have one more in to go. I must say I really like the idea of running in the Triple Peach series for no reason other than the name.

Find events. Run.
